Agra Gharana Gayaki

Bharathi, born and raised in Bengaluru, was initiated into Carnatic classical music at the young age of seven. Bharathi switched over to Hindustani classical music. She has been groomed under the guidance of the late Pt. Maruti Rao Inamdar, Davangere, and late Pt. Rama Rao V. Naik, in Bangalore who was a doyen of the Agra Gharana. She is trained in Bhavageethe and Vachana gaayana by the late Sri H . K . Narayana.

Her immense passion for music, inspired her to give up a career as an electronics engineer in HMT and take up music as her main pursuit.

Bharathi’s musical career took a significant leap after she came under the tutelage of Vidushi Lalith J Rao, an outstanding exponent of the Agra-Atrauli Gharana. Vidushi Lalith Rao has been giving her intensive training in the various aspects of the traditional Agra gayaki for the past 17 years. A trip to France by the Guru and her protégé for a concert and recording in Radio France is an important milestone in her musical journey.

Bharathi is a recipient of the Daughter’s Day Award-2015 instituted by the Public Relations Council of India, in memory of Late Kalpana Chawla. She was conferred with the title ”Ganashree”, as a recipient of the prestigious “Sri Guru Puttaraja Puraskara - 2017” by the Gana Gandharva Kala Trust - Gadag

Sarang Kulkarni, a very talented and multi faceted musician, is one of the most prominent faces of the emerging classical musicians of the new generation. Having shown his genius as a child prodigy, Sarang inherited the art of music from his father Pt Dr. Sudhanshu Kulkarni, internationally renowned scholar musician and Mother Mrs. Rohini Kulkarni- and mastered Harmonium at a young age. Sarang also took training from Pt. R.K. Bijapure for 15 years.

He has many achievements and prizes to his credit He has received the CCRT scholarship by the Govt. of India successively for   twelve years and the senior scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. The numerous awards won by Sarang include, Pit Ratilal Bhavsar Smruti Puraskar, Late Smt. Leelatai Jalgaonkar Puraskar , Samvadini Maharshi Pt. Rambhau Bijapure award and Swara-Jyothi Award.

He has performed solo harmonium programmes in India and  abroad. He has accompanied great stalwarts like Vidushi Shyamal Bhave, Pt.Ganapati Bhat, Pt. Parmeshwar Hegde Pt.Shounak Abhisheki,Pt.Sanjeev Abhyankar,Pt .Anand Bhate, Pt.Kaivalya Gurav, Pt.Jayteerth Mevundi, Vidushi Devaki Pandit,Vidushi Ashwini Bhide, Vidushi Shruti Sadolikar, Vidushi Bharati Pratap etc

 

Jagadeesh D Kurthkoti, the renowned tabla Artist, had a great passion for music right from childhood. With great support and encouragement by his parents, he learnt tabla from Sri Praveen D. Rao, then under the guidance of Pt Udayraj Karpoor.

He learnt concepts of rhythm from Guru Layakala Prathibhamani Vidwan Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, a multifaceted percussionist of India.

Presently receiving advanced level talim under the tutelage of Pandit Yogesh Samsi..

Kurthakoti

Though graduated as an engineer,  he has chosen music as his career. Being a versatile artist, Jagadeesh has adapted the techniques of playing Tabla and Pakhwaj for the intricacies of Carnatic Classical music and performed in many Tala Vaadya and Jugalbandhi concerts with renowned artists of India in prestigious sangeeta sabhas.

He has accompanied renowned classical musicians Dr Balamuralikrishna, Pt Vinayak Torvi, Pt. Venkatesh Kumar, Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, Devaki Pandit, , Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi, Pravin Godkhindi, Arathi Anklikar, Sriram Parashuram, Violin Meastros Vidwan Mysore Nagaraj and Mysore Manjunath, Vidwan N. Ramani, Vidushi Kanyakumari and others in India and abroad.  


Jagadeesh has played Tabla and other percussions in films, TV serials, and music albums with leading music directors. He has composed exclusive rhythm compositions for Kathak and other forms of dance, performed in many Kathak live programs, ballet recordings with renowned dance artists.
